Leadline Races will be run mid day and are sponsored by Buddy Bit Fencing.
Races are open to riders who have not had their 7th birthday as of January 1st on well-behaved ponies at least 5 years of age and not over 14.2 hands. The race will be in the stretch to the wire. Ponies many trot or walk. Ponies breaking to a canter must pull up and resume trotting. No whips, blinkers, or spurs. If entries warrant, the race may be split into two divisions. Entries should realize that this is meant to be a fun and safe experience for the rider. Riders should be steering their own pony and control pace, and leaders must remain next to the ponies shoulder at all times, no child should appear to be in distress. Riders that are not able to post or ride on their own yet may have an assistant on the far side of pony for Division II, but the assistant may not must the pony or attempt to make it go faster, or they may be disqualified. Placing of entry will be determined by placing judges on which ponies nose crosses the line first. NO Cantering. Leaders must be an adult. Entries exhibiting any unsportsmanlike-like conduct will be excused.
Entries are required to wear approved helmets. Neck straps, safety stirrups, and safety vests are encouraged.
